![]() ![]() How to Submit Content to TigerTronics' Website
General Instructions If you have content (meeting minutes, pictures, videos, event calendar updates, guides, etc) that you would like to add to TigerTronics' website, you should send it to TigerTronics' webmaster. If there is too much to send in an email (for example, a large picture collection), you should find the webmaster in school and give them the content in some other way, such as on a CD-R or bring it in to school on a USB Flash drive. When sending content to the webmaster, be sure to let them know what it is and where it should go on the website. If the webmaster has any questions or concerns, or if he/she feels it is necessary to modify the content in some way before posting it, they will contact you. Additional information about specific types of content can be found below. If the content you wish to submit does not fit into one of these categories, just follow the general instructions above. Large files or collections of files can also be uploaded to a temporary location via FTP or SFTP. You if upload content in this way, be sure to let the webmaster know that you have so they can act accordingly. Instructions for uploading files via FTP or SFTP. Submitting Meeting Minutes Meeting minutes should be submitted to the webmaster via email as an attachment. Be sure to include the date the minutes correspond to. Minutes are posted on the website in PDF format. You can submit them in any of the following formats: PDF, DOC, DOC, TXT, or ODF. If you do not submit them in PDF format, they will be converted to PDF before being posted. Submitting Pictures If you have more than just a few pictures, it is recommended that you give them to the webmaster on a CD-R or bring them to school on a USB Flash drive so the webmaster can copy them off the flash drive, since it can be difficult to send many or large pictures via email. You should alert the webmaster ahead of time if you'll be bringing them in on a flash drive. Not all the pictures the webmaster receives will necessarily be put on TigerTronics' website. If you have specific ones you really want posted, be sure to specify these filenames. Photos are usually resized to fit in with the rest of the website, but other editing it uncommon. Please do any editing (other than resizing) you wish to do before submitting them. It is recommended that you submit in the highest resolution you can. Submitting Guides or Web Pages We welcome any submissions of either pre-made HTML pages or text that you wish to be converted into a web page. If you are submitting pre-made HTML, you should make every effort to follow the standards used in the code throughout TigerTronics' website, such as the standard header and footer. Look at the source of this and other pages on TigerTronics' website to get an idea of what your HTML code should look like. If there are problems with submitted HTML that causes the submitted page to look inconsistent with the rest of TigerTronics' website, the submitted page may be rejected or re-written to make it fit in with other the rest of TigerTronics' website. If you simply have text (and essay or guide, for example) that you think should be published on TigerTronics' website, feel free to submit this as well. Such submissions may also include pictures, diagrams, etc. They should be submitted in TXT, DOC, or ODF format. The webmaster will do his/her best to convert it into a web page that it styled like the rest of TigerTronics' website. Failing that, your submission can always be published as-is (meaning it could be downloaded by others, but not directly viewable in a browser). Submitting Changes, Corrections, or Updates Changes, updates, and corrections can either be submitted by re-submitting the file that needs changed or updated with the changes and updates already made, or in most cases by just telling the webmaster what needs changed, updated, or fixed and they can do it for you. Keep in mind that some things, such as PDFs, can not be easily changed, and so the webmaster may not be able to make changes in such files. However, changes to web pages (such as spelling corrections or minor content changes or updates) can usually be made quite easily by the webmaster once someone points out the change or corrections needs to be made.
